Despite the growing gloom and doom over the global economy, it is a year for China’s economy in general and for China's super rich in particular. Here are top ten billionaires in China on Shanghai-based Hurun Research Institute's 2011 rich list.

Company: Sany Group

Liang Wengen is named China’s richest person 2011. He is known as the chairman and main shareholder of Sany Group — one of China’s largest construction equipment manufacturers. The Sany Group was founded in Chinese province of Hunan Province in 1989 as a small welding materials factory. Since then, the company has developed into a global conglomerate operation with five industrial parks in China, four manufacturing bases in the U.S., Germany, India and Brazil. The company employs 53,000 people around the world and has sales that exceed $7 billion.

Fortune: $10.7 billion

Company: Hangzhou Wahaha Group

“Drinks King” Zong Qinghou was ranked the first position in last year’s list and fell out into the second position in 2011 list of richest people in China. Zong Qinghou is CEO as well as chairman of China’s largest beverage producer named the Hangzhou Wahaha Group.
